The Theory of Evolution Is Not Biblical
There are major gaps in the theory of evolution, and in fact, humans do not share a common ancestor with apes. Quite simply, humans were created - not evolved. When it comes to Scripture, the literal account of Genesis states:
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
From the spiritual worldview, humans are made in the image of God, meaning, something about them is “divine” without themselves being divine. This is the Spirit that all have access but deny. 1 Corinthians 2:14 states,
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Humans, and even Christians, have tried to make the Bible compatible with science, ignoring the supremacy of the Word of God first. 2 Timothy 3:5 states:
“5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
This means that they will deny His original image, and instead of trying to filter the world through the Bible and respect God's authority and design, due to their pride, they will filter the world through man-made philosophies. So, then, is evolution compatible with God’s word? Let us now look into the holes in the theory that humans evolved from apes:
First, one must consider the ‘missing link’, and despite what many try to claim, the missing link is still missing. While there are claims that the this link has been found, according to this source, “Plenty of fossilized remains of prosimians, monkeys, apes, and humans have turned up, but no intermediate fossil between ape and man.”
Further, there are major issues with the idea that humans evolved from apes, including the fact that the last ancestor that supposedly was related to humans was different from us and modern apes in many profound ways.
We never see apes evolve into humans, and humans do not have tails. According to this scientific article, “The loss of the tail is among the most notable anatomical changes to have occurred along the evolutionary lineage leading to humans and to the ‘anthropomorphous apes’ with a proposed role in contributing to human bipedalism. Yet, the genetic mechanism that facilitated tail-loss evolution in hominoids remains unknown.” There is also no evidence of evolution of upright walking from apes to humans.
Christians have forgotten that the original view in Christianity was that God, the Intelligent Designer, created humans without any evolution processes, and we cannot dismiss the spiritual explanations for creation. Let’s not forget that there are also many problems with the theory of evolution in general, such as failures in the fossil record itself, which will be explored in this Wisdom library.
Whether people like to admit it or not, evolution is just a theory, and there are still many flaws in many fundamental assumptions of evolutionary theory. If a human from the 1800s saw a smartphone, would it assume it was created or evolved? Creation is key.
